My niece works with the White Stork Project at the Knepp Estate in West Sussex, and she was the one who introduced me to these huge, magnificent birds. I was lucky enough to see them in their new habitat and watch them flying overhead. Seeing them up close—back in the UK after so many years—really stuck with me, and that’s what inspired me to make this piece.

Full description
This elegant handcrafted stained glass White Stork wall or window hanging is inspired by the beautiful storks of the Knepp Estate in West Sussex, where these magnificent birds have recently been reintroduced to the UK. Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped, and soldered by hand, creating a detailed and graceful representation of this iconic bird known for its poise and symbolism.
Traditionally, storks are considered harbingers of hope, joy, and rebirth, making this artwork not just a decoration but a meaningful gift or a thoughtful addition to any home. The white glass body and smoky, textured wings capture the stork’s striking coloration, while the circular frame adds a clean, modern finish.
Hung by a simple ribbon, it’s ready to display in a window, on a wall, or to be given as a unique gift for nature lovers, bird lovers or stork enthusiasts.
The wire ring is approx 8 inches (20cm). Each piece is individually handcrafted using the traditional copper foil method. I make each hanging to order and as such it will be unique and may have subtle variations that add character and authenticity - just like the nature it is reflecting.
Please allow 3-5 days for me to handcraft your piece. Items are then dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked 48. If you need your order sooner, just drop me a message, I'm more than happy to prioritise rush orders where possible.
