I spotted these flowers stood amongst the red and green foliage and took a photograph with my camera. I was drawn to the vivid blue-purple of what I initially thought were late flowering bluebells, but I later discovered were harebells. I used gouache to capture the bright colours, adding a yellow outline to highlight the main stem and flowers from the background. This was a fun experiment which resulted in a bold painting that captures the visual changes of the autumn season in one small frame.
