I am so looking forward to showing my jewellery here and am now working on photos and descriptions for my new Folksy shop.
I enjoy working with copper wire because it's beautifully pliable to work with and I love the gorgeous colour it takes on after an antique finish has been added. I admired the beauty of this Scolecite cabochon with its mesmerising shimmer on the pure white - once it was delivered to me I knew that I wanted to add a tiny splash of colour by adding a lovely Amethyst bead as an accent.
Safety information
Scolecite is a soft stone and can be scratched easily. Please don't allow this pendant to come into contact with water. Also, please do not allow it to come into contact with chemicals. Please do not place this pendant in an ultrasonic cleaner. To clean, just use a soft cloth.

Scolecite pendant with an Amethyst bead accent
I designed and handmade this lovely pendant by capturing the Scolecite cabochon in a sturdy wire wrapped frame. This holds this stone securely at the front, sides and back. I used a Figure 8 wire weave pattern to make the bail, which holds the chain included with this pendant.
Using 0.315 mm diameter copper wire, I added wire weave to the design wires to curve round one side of the stone at the front of this pendant.
A coiled wire on the other side adds texture and interest.
I oxidised this pendant to add an attractive antique finish to show off the texture of the wire weave and create a contrast for the stone.
Scolecite is a white, semi-precious stone with a magical, subtle shimmer. I added an Amethyst bead to add a splash of colour.
After polishing again, I coated the wire weave with Everbrite to prevent tarnish. I applied Renaissance Wax to the wire wrapped elements of this pendant, so these are also protected from tarnishing.
This pendant includes an 18-inch, manufactured, antique copper colour, Cable Link chain with an attractive Lobster clasp.
Pendant length approximately 5.5 cm (2.16 inches)
Also included is an Eco and FSC Certified Gift Box.
The pendant will be sent safely cushioned in the Gift Box.
