This pendant was created from a series of moulds I made from flowers and plants in my garden over the course of a year. This piece was made with an astrantia flower - and I think it has translated into an interesting piece. I like the fact that taking inspiration directly from nature gives us a point of connection and grounding to the natural world. I enjoy choosing an appropriate gemstone to complement each pendant and add a bit of extra sparkle.

Botanical silver pendant with an impression of an astrantia flower with a lapis lazuili charm.
This pendant has a flat organic round shape with the flower details in relief. It has been given a patina to bring out the details in the flower. Then burnished and polished to a soft shine to create a very tactile piece. I have added a lapis lazuli charm, traditionally a birthstone for December.
The pendant has been made with great care and the elements that show that this was a hand made item are intentional . My aim is to make jewellery that shows that it was made by hand and didn't roll off a machine.
This pendant has an integral loop and then hangs from a silver chain by a soldered silver jump ring. One photo shows a five pence call for scale. The piece hangs on a 20 inch silver chain.
