This celestial star was born from a fascination with the balance between sun and moon — warmth and shadow, brightness and mystery. I wanted to capture the feeling of old folklore and festival light, where handmade objects carried both beauty and meaning.
The six-pointed velvet star is a symbol of harmony, each point a spark of energy. On one side, the golden felt sun glows with hand-stitched rays, sequined eyes and a mirrored third eye — a guardian of warmth and joy. On the reverse, the crescent moon rests in quiet contrast, her silvered surface stitched with tiny stars, representing calm and reflection.
Together they turn softly in the light, echoing the cycles of day and night, the changing seasons, and the artistry of handwork itself. Each stitch celebrates the slow, tactile process of making — an ornament designed not only for Christmas, but to bring a sense of wonder and story to your home year after year.

A hand-embroidered celestial star ornament with sun on one side and moon on the other, made from velvet and felt with sequins and mirror detail.
This double-sided star decoration is inspired by celestial myths and winter festivals — the meeting of sun and moon, light and shadow. The star has six soft velvet points, with a hand-stitched felt sun face on one side and a crescent moon on the reverse. Both are embroidered by hand, with sequin eyes, stitched details and a mirrored third eye that catches the light on your tree.
Stuffed for shape and finished with a purple satin ribbon loop, it’s a bold, colourful ornament that adds a touch of mystical glamour to any festive display.
