This daisy fabric I’ve used on Esme came from my lovely friend Mary. Mary and I got to know each other whilst we were both living in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire in the 1990’s, and we each had 2 similar aged children at playgroup and school together. We realised we had lots in common and we both enjoyed the love of making textiles. When Mary and family needed to move house, Mary passed on to me a bin bag full of fabric that her mother had passed on to her. It was full of dress fabric cut up into 9 inch squares, waiting for patchwork projects, including this daisy cotton fabric.

Esme is a preloved black denim jacket that’s had a floral makeover. I have used vintage fabric featuring bold white daisies and delicate pink and blue flowers, turning this classic into something truly special.
On the front, two dainty fabric patches sit on each shoulder, adding just a hint of flower power. But flip it around, and the back is where The Esme truly shines, with a bold bloom-filled design that’s impossible to ignore.

I believe in sustainable fashion, so all of the jackets are second-hand when they come to me. I always make sure they are in excellent condition before I begin their transformation.
