Full description

This is a single pressed woodcut with a two-colour roll onto Sumi-E Japanese paper.

It was inspired by a winter walk in the Arne RSPB nature reserve in Dorset. The leafless birch trees black and white against a grey sky and last year’s bracken covering the ground at their feet adding the only colour.

The image is drawn directly onto the wood before cutting to retain a liveliness in the lines and stimulate a range of different mark making.

This print has been part of two open exhibitions in 2025. St Barbe’s in Lymmington in March/April and The Dorset open and Dorchester museum and art gallery in October/November.

This is print 3 from a limited edition of 10

Dimensions of print: 43 x 30 cm - Dimensions of paper: 57 x 46 cm

The print is signed and the edition number annotated in the bottom left-hand corner.

Postage: The print is rolled in tissue paper and protected in plastic before being sent in a cardboard tube.
