I’m always looking for ways to use up oddments of yarn. I’d seen other people making knitted lights and it was easy enough to work out the pattern. It’s one of my go to easy things to knit when I’m trying to concentrate in meetings!

Cute fairy lights knitted from various yarns.
Each bulb is knitted, sewn up and stuffed with polyester stuffing. A small knitted cap is then sewn onto the bulb. The cord is also knitted, and then each finished bulb is sewn onto the cord. A string of bulbs takes around 8-10 hours to complete.
The colour scheme for this string is a pastel palette (using up yarn that was mainly used for baby clothes!) so it is very much a year round decoration, but could also fit beautifully with a more pastel Christmas theme!
