I am a big fan of a meadow - all year round and when they’re going to seed you see some amazing colours and textures. This piece, for me evokes that late summer meadow with a really moody sky.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic and features a late summer meadow scene. Yarrow seed heads and golden grasses are formed with intricate cuts of tile in ochre shades. For contrast I chose two shades of deep blue and with the hand tinted navy grout, I feel the piece really evokes a moody sky.
I use beautiful, quality tiles; Winckelmans, Cinca and Emaux de Briare, which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.
Measures 16cm x 21cm x 2.5cm
Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind but I am able to make more in a similar colour palette on request. I am also open to commissions, just contact me for a chat.
