For the first five years of my small business, and drawing on my many years as a prop maker and SFX makeup Artist, I worked a lot with repeatable designs. Creating a piece and producing many more exactly the same for my valued customers.
However, the pacing and methods of this work lead me to feel like my business was turning into more of a one-woman-factory and less of an artist running a business.
And so I dug into one of my many sketch books and decided to make a piece "just because!" and immediately I was absolutely in love with the process of these Spooks. The flow and spontaneity of these pieces after 5 years of self imposed rigidity was so fun! And I am looking forward to creating so many more of these pieces for you.

Full description
Hand sculpted, hand poured and made from Jesmonite. Each iconic Spookspell & Co. Spook is completely unique, using various techniques to create pieces with organic shapes, patterns and designs celebrating spontaneity in the formation of art, and aiming to quite literally capture the creation of a piece in its "flow state", in keeping with the etherial nature of the sheet wearing Ghosts of Victorian folklore.
The "Aurora" Spook stands at 11x6cm and is saturated with a soothing pastel blue and pink skirt bleeding into white. With pitch black eyes that glisten for that hint of personality, this Spook will surely be a hauntingly welcome addition to any spooky home!
