A WONDERFUL GIFT for Vintage Aviation and Hawker Hurricane enthusiasts - a special and original present for birthdays and Christmas, ready to give to the recipient!
The print comes in a solid wood frame with a black painted finish. It can either be hung or displayed free-standing on any flat surface.
This print is taken from one of my original oil paintings, created to commemorate the bravery of the pilots involved in the Battle of Britain.
'Covering the Bobby'
The painting depicts the Hurricane of P/O. John L. W. Ellacombe, 151 Squadron, on the 24/8/1940. He circles around the German aircraft, which he forced to land, concerned for the safety of the policeman who has arrived on the scene. He sees with relief that his cover is not needed and departs, with a certain appreciation of the strange humour of the situation, having watched the policeman taking down the crew's details in a notebook (almost as if they had been pulled up for a minor traffic offence!).
(Tail insignia on the German aircraft removed for listing.)
Printed by one of the UK's top fine art printers, using the GICLEE process on eco Hahnemuhle Hemp paper to produce the finest quality prints of my paintings.
