I'm slightly terrified of big moths, but completely and utterly in awe of them - they are just soooo beautiful. When I saw what Mother Nature had created with the Death Head Hawkmoths I literally couldn't believe it. Those perfectly places 'skull' markings would certainly scare me let alone any predator! A complete work of art in the natural world and absolutely worth paying homage to in clay.

My Death Head Hawk Moths are hand-made ceramic wall mounted decorations, lovingly glazed realistically in both matt and glossy glazes. Their wings feature a beautiful speckly, mottled glaze and glittering real gold lustre. Their 'skull' markings are finished with oxides for a realistic bone effect. They are made by me completely from scratch so no two will ever be the same. They have a wire hanger on the reverse.
I AM AN EARTHENWARE CREATION - that means that although I am beautiful and strong, I should ideally spend my life indoors. I can be put outside during warmer, dry weather but please take me back inside when it gets wet and cold so that the frost and damp don't cause me to crack,
Moth's size is approx. 22cm at their widest point x 14cm tall excluding their antennae.
