Bring a burst of colour and charm to your display with these delightful decorative perching birds.
Each bird is meticulously handmade, and crafted from a selection of vibrant coloured felts and card. To
further enhance their lively and cheerful appearance, subtle shading and additional details are
applied using permanent markers. This careful and thoughtful process ensures that every bird is
quite individual.
While their design is somewhat inspired by the vivid hues of pheasants and other brightly coloured birds,
these perching birds do not represent any specific species. In fact, the main inspiration comes from a favourite decoration that once adorned my parents' Christmas
tree: a striking green crested bird perched in a shelter. Although that original decoration has been sadly
lost, the desire to recreate and share its joyful spirit lives on in these handmade creations,
offering others the chance to be inspired in their own way.
Each decorative bird measures approximately 11 cm in length, from the tip of its beak to the end
of its tail. For ease of display, two sturdy wires are securely attached to each bird, making it
simple to perch them on an eclectic Christmas tree or to incorporate them into a variety of other
arrangements and displays.
