I like to find different ways of framing my original artwork, all the better is it can be done by up cycling something that would otherwise have ended up in landfill.
Safety information
Would not be recommended for use in a child's room due to it's fragile nature and the glass front.

Full description
Can you believe a little dormouse has found his way into this abandoned alarm clock case and built the perfect nest to sleep in? Handy that the little clock had been left near a hazel tree so that dormouse's favourite snacks are easily reached.
This is a hand painted and hand cut original diorama art piece. The clock case has been thoroughly cleaned. The glass is the original glass. All paper and card parts are hand painted by me using Schmincke Horadam Professional Watercolours. The design is unique, the background and the paper used in the nest are painted on (and made using) Arteza CP, acid free, 300gsm watercolour paper. The leaves and dormouse are painted on Khadi handmade, acid free, cotton rag paper, 210gsm. I have placed elements of the original clockworks into the nest, these have been sewn into place using cotton thread. All the gluing of paper to paper was done using LineCo neutral pH adhesive. The glass has been refitted and is now held in place using mouldable adhesive.
The clock case being an up-cycled item means that it does show wear and chips on the paintwork, and the plastic that has been used to make the feet has discoloured slightly over time.
Dimensions (approximately):
Height: 110mm (4.5")
Width: 100mm (4")
Depth: 50mm (2")
PLEASE NOTE: whilst this appears suitable for a child's bedroom, I do not recommend this.
My post out days are Monday and Thursday.
