I love making these jugs. Each one is different because of the nature of the wood-firing process. I am always drawn to the two tones of soft speckle and crazing on the glazed section, and where it has been left bare, the ash deposits leave a subtle shine and variation of earthy, speckled orange.

Full description
Large Pottery Jug
20cm tall, 9.5cm wide at the top. 1.2kg
This handmade jug is glazed inside and around a third of the outside in a soft, pale green-grey with darker speckles. The surface shows a gentle crazing that adds character and depth.
The lower, unglazed section reveals the beauty of wood firing — where ash has settled and melted into a natural glaze, leaving subtle trails of the flames. In some places, the natural iron in the clay body shines through, giving rich, earthy tones.
It has a small hand-pulled handle.
Perfect as a water jug for the table, or as a statement vase for fresh flowers.
