As an avid Science Fiction fan I am drawn to aerial imagery of Earth and other Worlds and thus this series was born. Using the spherical shape of planets I use glaze and clay relief to sculpt terrain that forms a portal to another place. That place could be a beautiful lake on Earth or it could be the gaseous atmosphere of an alien world.

Porcelain Christmas Decoration from my Portal series of work. This piece uses an latte coffee crackle glaze which will sparkle in your Christmas tree lights. Tie is made from faux suede cord. The disc is 7.5cm in diameter and around 4mm in thickness.
