This set was inspired by the beauty of imperfection and the stories hidden in reclaimed wood. The pine blocks, once part of a working pallet, carry the marks of their past life. I chose to stain them in dark oak and finish with wax to bring out their natural warmth, while still allowing their history to shine through. The taller holder has a nail gouge that I purposefully left in place—a small reminder of where the wood has come from and how it has been reimagined into something new. Each holder is a piece of rustic character, celebrating both sustainability and individuality.

A rustic set of two tealight holders, handcrafted from the solid pine blocks of an upcycled pallet. Each piece has been carefully cut, sanded, and stained in a rich dark oak, then finished with a matching wax to deepen the tone and bring out the natural character of the wood.
The taller holder carries a unique feature—a nail gouge from the pallet’s past life—which has been purposefully left in place as a reminder of its reclaimed story. This detail makes the set truly one-of-a-kind, with every mark adding to its rustic charm.
