I wanted to finish off some of my yarns to make room for new ones. Whilst watching the platinum jubilee I spent the evening cutting up the yarn and knotting it together before winding it up to make 3 new balls of yarn. I then started making the granny square in the same evening and slowly worked on it throughout the summer.

Full description
This is a 100x100cm contemporary granny square blanket. I made this blanket to use up yarn I had leftover from another project. I had varying different quantities of colours so I cut up the yarn into random lengths and knotted them together to create a 'self-striping' yarn. This meant that the colour changes are completely random, I continued in the stitch until I ran out of yarn.
