This piece was born from the idea of honoring every detail of reclaimed wood—not hiding its past, but celebrating it. The cherry pallet block carries warmth in its natural grain and colour, yet what drew me most were the imperfections that tell its story: the two original nails, still in place, and the hollowed knot beside the candle cup.
Together, these elements remind us that beauty often lies in the unexpected. By transforming this humble block into a tealight holder, I wanted to highlight the contrast between its rugged history and the soft glow of candlelight—a piece that embodies resilience, character, and nature’s artistry.

This small tealight holder is handcrafted from upcycled cherry wood pallet block (which I was lucky enough to find), blending natural elegance with rustic history. The rich reddish-brown tones of cherry wood bring warmth, while its grain patterns highlight the wood’s unique character.
Adding to its story, the block still holds two original nails from its pallet days—kept in place as a reminder of its reclaimed past. On the top surface, next to the candle cup, a naturally hollowed out knot creates a striking feature, adding texture and depth that only nature could design.
Together, the warmth of cherry wood, the raw details of its history, and the organic knot feature make this tealight holder a truly one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates both beauty and imperfection.
