I’ve been thinking about this subject for a while now, trying to work out how to create the iconic rounded lobes on its leaves. I’m really pleased with how it’s come out - especially the lovely luminous background colour. I think it really elevates the piece.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic and features a slug of oak leaves and acorns on a pale, jade background. The leaves are hand cut in a variety of greens with a cluster of chestnut brown acorns.
I use beautiful Winckelmans and Cinca tiles which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.
Measures: 11cm x 11 cm x 2.5cm
Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind but I am able to make more in a similar colour palette on request. I am also open to commissions, just contact me for a chat.
