This venture began in December 2024 with a big bag of old copper electrical wire I found in our shed. My husband was intending to sell it for scrap, but I had other ideas! I began to play around with some old beads I had, and the copper wire, and Brash Trash was born...
My beads are sourced second hand - some are gifts of broken jewellery, some come from charity shops. I love taking things that nobody wants any more and turning them into something that makes me smile. Hopefully they make you smile too!

Full description
This spider is an original Brash Trash Beastie, born on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland.
It's made from recycled costume jewellery and reclaimed copper electrical wire. Its legs can be gently repositioned, but please don't bend them too much: this puts excessive stress on the beads, and they may fracture. There may be the odd sharp wire end in the feet. Because of these concerns, please note that this spider is not a toy, and is not suitable for children.
The spider comes with a whimsical certificate of authenticity.
Some folk believe that they are not actually made by human hand at all, but in fact hatch out in the deepest depths of Loch Lomond, to float ashore on driftwood branches. And on certain nights when the moon rises behind Ben Lomond, and the wind is in the east, you just might hear them scuttling along the shore, looking for their siblings....
