Inspiration?? It just seemed right that a quarter cog could form the support to a bookend - it also looked good too!

Full description

A pair of cast iron industrial styled bookends. Fancy some industrial style, steampunk bookends for your book shelf? These bookends come in three sizes, medium, large and extra large - the medium stand around 150mm tall and 80mm wide, the large are 200mm tall and 100mm wide and the extra large is 220 tall. They all feature a quarter of a machine gear wheel that is around 35mm wide.

From Extra Large to Medium they weigh approximately 800g, 600g and 400g each, the Extra Large are great for tall books, the Medium are good for paperbacks and CDs and the Large are a very good for typical sized bound books.

Although they look like rusting relics they are in fact machined from a quality MDF that this first primed and then treated so that over a period of time the surface begins to rust. The rusting process will always result in a unique finish between any two items. By using other ferrous items, such as old nuts, the finish can be further varied as can be seen in some of the images.

These would compliment the cast iron cog clock that I also make.

Each book end is finished on receipt of order and for this reason I cannot accept returns.
