Written 27/08/2025. It is that time of year when the birds are starting to gather and swarm. For the last week the sky above Stewarton has been noisy and full of chattering birds. They are gathering in the trees and telephone lines. It is a natural settling sound that tells me that Autumn is just around the corner.

Full description
100% Fused glass 'Birds on a Wire' picture.
A visually stunning picture which glimmers in the light.
This picture has three layers, two being bullseye glass, and one being a copper metal moon. The moon is sandwiched between the two layers of glass. This gives the copper a bubbly mottled appearance (quite atmospheric). The birds and their wire are carefully painted on using 'glassline'. Once again 'glassline is used to give the mottled background sky. The finished piece was then fused twice in my glass kiln to allow the layers to melt and blend together. Each firing took thirteen hours.
Frame: 25.3 x 25.3cm, depth: 2.5cm
Glass picture: 13.5 x 13.5cm, depth: 6mm.
Stand on back plus hook for wall hanging.
Signed on front and back.
Completely original!
Designed by Alison MacVicar in Stewarton, East Ayrshire, Scotland.
