I took the reference picture in summer of 2022 when I went on a little solo day out. It was a lovely day with tourists queueing to take photos by the beatles statue. I thought drawing and painting the Liver building would be a great exercise in urban sketching with its beautiful structural detail. I surrounded the white buildings with colour to let them stand out-after all it was a very blue sky that day! This took 4 days to paint.

My original watercolour painting of a photo I took in the summer of 2022 at the Liverpool docks by the 3 graces and beatles statue. A3, watercolour, fineliner, gel pen. 300gm cold pressed paper. Unframed.
