Onyx is a form of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family, and similar to Agate.
In ancient times it was believed that Onyx would protect the wearer by absorbing negative energies
It was believed that Demons could be trapped inside the stone, rendering them harmless.
Onyx is the ancient birthstone for Leo and August, alongside the modern Peridot.

Full description
Each drop earrings features a 6mm frosted black Onyx, 5.5mm banded Onyx, 3mm quality Austrian crystal AB bicone and 3mm faceted Black Onyx bead.
Each bead is separated by a tiny 1.8mm sterling silver spacer.
The beads are threaded onto sterling silver pins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires.
The Aurora Borealis coating on the crystals makes them extremely sparkly, a pretty contrast against the black beads.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, best friend or as a treat for yourself.
These earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm), excluding the wire.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
