A ornamental gift vessel
Applewood with Single Notch 19 x 13cm
This series of wood turned bowls focuses on the Japanese aesthetic Wabi Sabi which finds the beauty of imperfections, irregularity and natural flaws
With this philosophy I have created these bowls using interesting timber that has certain cracks, splits and other unique imperfections
They are finished with linseed oil to show off the grain shape and colour
This bowl was sourced from a fallen apple tree in Herefordshire
The wood has such a nice pattern so I rescued it from the firewood pile
