Full description
A small contemporary sculpture of forged steel with a beeswax finish.
This was a prototype design using a repeating theme of crescents and an experiment of contrasting forge scale with some reflective polished steel surfaces.
This work was inspired by my research into astronomy, astrolabes and archaeological earthworks. This style eventually lead up to my final sculptures on my degree in Artist Blacksmithing
Ideal position on a table, conservatory window sill or on garden pedestal in full sunlight which will cast interesting shadows over the passing of the day not unlike a sundial.
If exposed to weather the surface will form a iron patina
