the insert is a commercially made item that goes perfectly with my turned bowl , i love the shape of this. Over years of use this will not only develop a pleasing patina, as all wood does, it will also absorb the smells of the pot-pourri it holds to become a family heirloom that has a little of the story of everyone who handles it.
