Meadow stained glass panel made by Carole’s Glass.
I was in Suffolk recently and was inspired to make a seascape which in turn inspired me to make a meadow scene - that's how piece evolve. I have used different types of green stained glass for the meadow and blue glass for the sky. Wire grass and seagulls have been overlaid on the glass to add to the scene.
I have used 5 different types of green stained glass for the meadow which have a lovely mix of textures and 3 types of blue glass for the sky. The grasses and gulls have been made using tinned copper wire.
Each piece of glass has been hand cut, ground, washed, foiled and soldered together before being washed again. I have soldered twisted wire to 3 sides of the panel to give it an attractive border and added strength on this panel. A length of fishing line has been attached for hanging purposes. Please note the between the turquoise sea and blue sky the area is empty - no glass is in this area. I have applied a patina to blacken the solder.
I will supply a window hook so it can be hung as soon as received but please remember to wet before pushing firmly o to the window. Please remember to wet the plunger before you push it firmly onto the window.
This panel measures 10cms wide x 23cms high.
