My inspiration for this Handmade decorative bowl was Joey Richardson, a woman with a gift.
I watched her turn a bowl and then embellish it, separating the wood from the top using the lathe. keeping it as one piece but allowing some sections to lean in and some out. Then she added previously made butterflies. Then finished with acrylic paint and varnish....
That was it, I was hooked. Not only could I turn a bowl, but now I can let my imagination go wild and do what comes naturally for me, which is to carve, paint, and embellish natural materials

A Small Wooden Sculpture (8.5cm high x 9.5cm wide) hand-turned from carefully selected reclaimed Yorkshire wood
The Lovingly Etched Wood Sculpture captures the essence of quiet craftsmanship. It cradles a cluster of hand-etched oak leaves and acorns.
Shaped from a single piece of timber, the wooden keepsake has been crafted from the same piece of wood, each element is individually designed using pyrography and finished with varnish to reveal its natural beauty.
