- This is a PDF crochet pattern, not the actual blanket -
The pattern will be emailed to you – this is usually within a couple of hours, but please allow up to 12.
The Soft Posy Baby Blanket is made up of whole and mixed coloured granny squares, joined using the Join As You Go (JAYG) method. The border is made up of 6 rounds with a little mosaic crochet and some shaping to give it a “posy” look. I’ve used some lovely soft colours from Stylecraft Bellissima and Bambino. The finished blanket is 36" x 36" (there is also an option for a larger 47" x 47" blanket included in the pattern).
The 21 page pattern uses UK terminology (if you would prefer US terminology, please message me), is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures to help you make your blanket.
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate - the body of the blanket and joining method use basic stitches and are beginner friendly, with some more intermediate stitches/techniques in the border - I've included pictures for each round of the border and stitch descriptions for less common stitches. The full photo tutorials for granny square and the JAYG joining method make this pattern ideal for a first blanket, as well as providing a handy recap for more advanced crocheters.
The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern: chain, slip stitch, double crochet, half treble, treble, increase, dc2tog, back loop only
Materials: 4mm crochet hook, yarn needle
