Owls are such beautiful birds, which you rarely get to see out and about.
I've seen them in nature reserves and with professional handlers.
They are so serene and still when perched and their ability to fly almost silently is amazing.

It was this silent flight that inspired me to create this artwork.

As with the Celestial Butterly this design started as an idea for a set of greetings cards with an exotic and magical theme.
I envisioned a magical Owl whose wings had morphed with the surrounding plants and flowers to become an almost mythical creature. Silently swooping across the fileds in the moonlight.

Drawn by hand using a wacom tablet and pen in Photoshop.
Many hours of digital drawing went into this piece, each flower, leaf and dot carefully placed.

Once I had created this design it was professionally printed onto canvas.
The end process was adding the gold leaf by hand.

Currently this is a one of a kind piece.
Signed in gold on the reverse of the frame.
