I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. Apart from exceptionally large pieces my items are delivered free of charge by Royal Mail, second class.
Yet another experimental piece using some special flakes that give an interesting iriidescent and dappled finish. The colour changes like a chameleon depending on the viewpoint.

Full description
A pretty platter turned in sycamore. The central dish of th platter was turned off centre before carving the rim. Metallic flakes were then applied to give an interesting iridescent and dappled finish over which a durable lacquer was applied. the colour of the rim will appear to change depending on the angle from which it is viewed. Brown leather lines have been inset into the outer and inner edges of the bowl.
