Abalone is a type of mollusc found all over the world. The inside of the shell is layered with nacre (mother of pearl) in beautiful, iridescent colours. The shell is very thick and strong, and makes beautiful beads for use in jewellery making.
Valued in many ancient cultures, Abalone is thought to bring mental clarity, serenity, strength and wisdom.
Shell Pearls are man-made using nacre, the same material that makes natural pearls, and are considered the best replicas you can get. The ones I have used here are a beautiful forest green with a lovely sheen.
Pearls are thought to be a calming gem, and have long been associated with integrity, purity, loyalty and faith.
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June and Gemini, the stone for the 30th wedding anniversary, and has been associated with love and marriage for thousands of years.

Full description
Each dainty earrings features a 10mm Abalone shell square topped with a pair of 4mm forest green shell pearls separated by a 4mm quality Austrian 'peridot satin' crystal bicone, all highlighted with 1.8mm gold vermeil spacers.
The Abalone shell squares have an iridescent fawn base colour overlaid with brilliant flashes of green, purple and pink set between black veins.
The Shell Pearls are a complementary forest green with a lovely sheen.
The Austrian crystals add a hint of sparkle.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil pins and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold.
They are very lightweight and easy to wear.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, bridesmaid, best friend - or as a treat for yourself.
Especially suited for a June birthday or 30th wedding anniversary, as Pearl is the birthstone for June and the stone for the 30th wedding anniversary.
These drop earrings measure approximately 1.25 inches (3cm).
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
