Full description
A Daffodil and Violet embroidery transfer, based on a vintage motif, ready for you to embroider using your own choice of stitches and threads without needing to transfer the image
Vintage transfers are ideal for today's embroiderer - and can be used with either traditional or modern techniques - or a combination of both.
This motif is from a collection of transfer images from the early 1900's. Typically done as freeform hand embroidery, it is also suitable for needle painting, whitework or even stumpwork, as well as free motion machine stitching.
Motif size: 7 cm tall (3 inches)
The outline is printed onto stitch and sew adhesive material - you simply peel off the backing and stick it to your fabric and stitch through it. Once you have finished sewing, you soak the embroidery in warm water to dissolve the paper.
This motif is also available on a non-stick stabiliser paper if you prefer. This is recommended for machine embroidery. However it is not adhesive so needs to be tacked into place before stitching. It washes away in water in a similar way.
1 motif is supplied, with instructions for applying and dissolving the paper.
Embroidery instructions are not provided, however you can add an optional leaflet with stitch suggestions.
Designed by Sharon Lloyd in my attic sewing room in South Wales
