Full description
Based on a vintage motif from the early 1900's, this beautiful Thistle transfer is ideal for both modern and traditional embroidery techniques. Choose your own threads and stitches to make your own unique floral embroidery that can be used to decorate clothes or craft projects, or to stitch a lovely floral picture.
Available in a choice of stitch and sew adhesive material or non-stick stabiliser paper, both are easily dissolved with warm water, so you can start sewing without needing to transfer the image.
Originally designed for hand embroidery, this motif would be beautiful hand stitched in either silk or fine wool, and would suit both flat stitching or 3D effects - for example Turkey work or stumpwork. It can also be used as inspiration for free motion machine embroidery.
Motif size: 9 cm tall (3.5 inches)
Options:
- Stick and stitch (self adhesive) - peel off the backing and stick it to your fabric and stitch through it.
- Non stick stabiliser paper - tack in place before stitching. Recommended for machine embroidery.
Once you have finished sewing, you soak the embroidery in warm water to dissolve the paper.
1 motif is supplied, with instructions for applying and dissolving the paper.
Detailed stitching instructions are not provided, however you can add an optional leaflet with stitch suggestions.
