“Fox in Profile” was inspired by the beauty and intelligence of the fox — a creature that’s both elusive and ever-present in the Scottish countryside. I wanted to capture a sense of stillness and alertness, using expressive lines and layered textures to reflect the fox’s graceful strength. This piece is a celebration of wildness, of watching and waiting, and of the moments we often overlook. As an artist living in Ayrshire, I’m continually drawn to the stories held in the natural world around me — and the fox, with its mix of mystery and charm, felt like the perfect subject to bring to life in this style.
