Over the course of a year I collected flowers and leaves in my garden , making moulds of what I found. Now I have been working through this collection of moulds, making test pieces from non precious materials , and then working with silver metal clay to created pendants from my favourite moulds.
The metal clay material is quite an amazing thing : the silver is reclaimed from various industrial purposes and combined with a binder that makes it workable. Once it is fired we are left with a piece of silver of hall mark quality. ( This item is below the weight that requires hall marking . )
I wanted to combine this silver lilac charm with some semi precious stones - I've chosen amethyst and garnet to add a bit of colour and sparkle.
Garnet is the birthstone for january and amethyst for Februrary.

Full description
Silver pendant created from an impression of a lilac flower, embellished with silver wire , amethyst and garnets . Hangs on a 22 inch silver chain.
Please see photo for scale - roughly the size of a five pence piece - but much chunkier.
This piece has been given a patina to bring out the detail of the lilac and polished to bring out the highlights.
