If I find a piece of vintage embroidered linen that is past it's best, I salvage what I can from it and incorporate it into new items to be enjoyed every day. This tablecloth was laundered before I began working with it.

Full description
I made this hand bag and purse set using fabric salvaged from a vintage hand embroidered tablecloth which was no longer fit for purpose. The embroidery features delicate sprays of flowers with decorative cut work and drawn thread work. I began by backing the cut work with blue fabric and then teamed the panel with vintage Laura Ashley fabric in blue. All fabrics were backed with fusible fleece and machined with antique quilt style stitching. Inside is faced at the top for a professional finish and then the lower part is lined with white cotton. There's a key ring loop so that you can clip the purse inside.
The bottom of the bag is boxed and has stiffening in the base. Across the top measures about 31cm, across the base measures 20cm and it's about 23cm tall. The loops of the two neatly topstitched handles measure about 30cm.
The matching purse measures about 12cm x 9cm, and is made with the blue fabric and a panel of embroidery with a white cotton lining. It closes with a grey zip, there is a key ring loop in one side seam and it will clip snugly into the bag using the lobster clip included.
This item is ready to ship. I usually send out next day using second class postal service in order to keep shipping costs as low as possible, so if you would prefer first class, please get in touch. Item will be wrapped in new tissue paper, while outer packaging may be recycled.
