My mum was always sewing, often out of necessity but also because she loved it and I suppose I was always going to follow in her footsteps. At senior school, I had the most amazing needlework teacher, who drilled us mercilessly in technique, but allowed us to rebel just enough to develop our own style. I think my love of fabric began when she took us to Liberty and John Lewis in London to buy our fabric for A level - she was insisting on pure wool but I managed to talk her round and came home with the most gorgeous cream Treveira!
As well as sewing for my Folksy shop, I make things to sell at a community market and use my skills to help various charities.
In my shop you will find things that I have been making for years, like my heart decorations and peg bags, but I'm always trying new things too, so you never know what you might find. Usually a fabric will inspire the make, not the other way round, and my fabrics come from various sources. Sometimes I use reclaimed fabric or salvaged embroidery, and if this is the case, I will point this out in the listing.

Gorgeous little bag that's well made and came beautifully presented. I love it so much this is now my go to bag. It's big enough to fit the things I need - purse, keys, phone and a few other bits, but not so huge I'm rummaging around to find stuff. Lovely seller, recommended.

The bag and purse are very good quality , well made, lovely material and lovely choice of contrast fabric. Bag arrived on time, well wrapped, and went immediately to Australia as a birthday present for my daughter.
