I originally created the tiger applique motif for a patchwork quilt (Tiger Tea Party), and fell so much in love with him I wanted to use him in other makes too. He is fun to sew, making him perfect for sew-it-yourself kits.
I am creating a number of sew it yourself kits in felt applique - they will appear in my shop soon.

Full description
A sew it yourself kit for my own design tiger cub in 100% wool felt, appliqued and embroidered on a pretty floral cotton fabric and displayed in a wooden embroidery hoop.
With lots of detailed instructions to help develop specific sewing skills, this craft kit is suitable for a confident beginner or intermediate sewists. Recommended for adults, and older chldren with supervison.
Felt applique is very good for beginners as the edges don't fray, and the back-stitch and chain stitch embroidery stitches are easy to learn. You will also learn how to secure the finished fabric picture in the frame using the gathered technique, and neatly finish the back with a circle of wool felt blanket stitched in place.
Sent in an eco-cardboard box, the kit includes:
- 100% wool felt for the tiger cub - EITHER as a ready cut motif or with a template to cut out your own
- quilting cotton fabric in a floral meadow print
- DMC stranded cotton thread in 5 colours
- birch wood embroidery hoop by Elbesee
- bamboo wadding to stabilise your applique/embroidery
- wool felt for the back (colours will vary)
- needle and pins
- ribbon for hanging
Plus full instructions with colour photographs
You just need to provide scissors (and an optional iron). The display easel propping up the picture in the box is not included - but is available as an optional extra.
