Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance, full of history and character. To present and deliver unique Eco Friendly gifts in Sustainable Packaging.
I love collecting ceramic discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. Favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-worked and crafted into something new. Bits and bobs found by chance waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
All ceramic personally collected from river banks, charity shops, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each item comes with a short bio. Ceramic will show marks, scratches and imperfections, all part of its history and journey.

Damaged Side Plate
Discovered
Penrith, Cumbria
October 2023
Handcrafted into
Earrings
March 2025
I visited Penrith on 10th October 2023, a lovely market town in Cumbria where I found some interesting pieces of ceramic in the charity shops. Some were rescue plates from odds and ends boxes, cracked or badly damaged and others were stand out pieces, slightly damaged and perfect for a new project.
I bought a lovely but damaged side plates. Pretty forget-me-not flower design but sadly very scratched in places. I like to just drop the ceramic onto a hard surface, this allows the material to shatter into shards at random. I then work with what shapes are created.
A few pieces broke in a way that suggested dangle earrings, many different shapes were formed and I was surprised at how these two pieces were alike. Back and sides sanded and sealed with Eco Friendly Matt Sealant. Front glaze in tact.
The idea is to create something new from old. The finished piece isn’t meant to be perfect or highly polished but instead retain part of the original character.
Measures approximately 28 mm x 11 mm (widest) x 2 mm.
Full drop approximately 41 mm.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Sustainable gifts, complete with short bio.
