Description

This is a collagraph print made using mountboard. The print itself is 8.5cm by 1.5 cm and it is printed onto Somerset paper that is 15cm by 21cm. It is printed using hand applied coloured ink.

I often sketch from life in my local town and have begun a series of tall buildings of Northampton using these sketches. The Obelisk, a folly which is now on the edge of the town, is a striking and unusual monument built in 1764 by the Earl of Strafford, who owned the Boughton Estate at the time.
