I don't think you can get better quilt books than the old American ones. They've always got a good selection of templates and some lovely traditional designs. I've got one from the 60s and I'll never part with it. This one, published by the American School of Needlework in 1988, is called First Steps in Quiltmaking and is pretty much all you need to start making traditional quilts. Seventeen pages of instructions and diagrams. Good condition.
