Full description
This mug makes an ideal Mother’s Day, birthday or thank you gift for any lover of handmade pottery, tea, coffee or flowers! Pottery is also the traditional 9th wedding anniversary gift.
Thrown on my wheel, this stoneware mug incorporates abstract white Honesty seed heads over a pretty soft pine green / teal colour.
Taking inspiration from nature & my love of patterns, I’ve painted the mug body with the coloured slip (liquid clay) then monoprinted the white areas over. Monoprinting onto the mug gives a lovely, unique variation of print & colour to each seed-head. I then carved thin lines with a needle to draw the Honesty & added the handle before leaving it to dry. Once dry, I infilled the lines, fired the mug, covered it in a glossy clear glaze & fired it again. A time consuming but very enjoyable process - I hope the joy I have in making comes across in each finished piece.
- Holds 1/2 pint of liquid.
- Measurements (approx): height - 8cm, diameter - 10.5cm. Measurements vary slightly as all items are handmade individually.
- Can be washed in the dishwasher
Postage: My standard postage is via UK Royal Mail 48 Tracked. I will despatch 1-2 working days on receipt of your order. If you need another delivery option, please contact me first :-)
Packaging: All items come well packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes. I only buy paper based & recyclable packaging. So if your parcel contains any plastic (eg bubble wrap/foam) it is being re-used.
