'Beach Huts' is the second in a series of Beach Huts textile artworks by artist Heidi Meier and this option sees it provided unframed, ready for you to buy your own frame.
Beach Huts is a lovely original artwork, one of a kind. Beach Huts is made from layers of fabric using the raw edge appliqué technique and embellished with free motion embroidery. This is where an artist uses a sewing machine needle to draw freehand onto fabric, creating art in the same way as with a pencil. No computer wizardry is involved, it is all done by eye and hand, taking many hours of meticulous crafting.
Some of the fabrics used on Beach Huts are sheer, giving the picture a shimmer which is hard to photograph. The sky and the sea in particular reflect the light with shimmer and sparkle.
The artwork is provided unframed but is mounted on a quality conservation (acid free) cream mount (15 inches by 17 inches, approx 38cm by 43cm). The embroidery aperture is c360mm wide by 300 high (14 inches wide by 12.25 inches high).
