Full description
This is a small hand embroidered red capped mushroom woodland inspired piece.
With a textural hand dyed cotton scrim as the foliage of the woodland ground. Besides the hand couched wool to create the curly ferns and the fish bone stitched fern leaves in a nylon, rayon blended thread.
The red toadstools had been hand appliquéd using red felt, cotton lace trim for the undercap of the mushroom as well as textural leatherette as the mushroom stalk.
The toadstool caps have been hand embellished with pearly white beads along with a green beaded undergrowth on the grown floor.
The whole piece has been hand embroidered onto a piece of speckle blended linen. The fabric is woven with white, grey, bronze and brown coloured linen yarns creating a multi earthly toned piece of fabric.
The piece has been inserted in an oval plastic flex but wooden effect looking frame. Which is easy clean and ageless due to the plastic nature. Besides being finished off with a decorative bevelled metal hanger at the top to be hung.
The inner frame size is: 4x5.5 inch (the dimensions of the embroidered area)
Over all frame size: 4.5x6 inch
The embroidery had been hand finished at the back with a gathering stitch and a piece of felt all hand whipped into place.
Note: The small beads could cause choking if pulled off.
This is a one off piece and will not be made exactly the same again.
