I crochet new decorations every Christmas, and this year a little skein of hand dyed yarn inspired the little Christmas jumper.

This is a pattern for a tiny Christmas sweater or jumper, in the style of the popular crochet hexagon sweaters and jumpers.
The pattern uses very small amounts of yarn (approximately 5g of 4ply or 10g to 15g of DK, depending on the fibre/brand of yarn used). In the samples in the photographs, I used 10g of Stylecraft Special DK in Cream in the DK sample, and 5g of hand dyed 4 ply/sock yarn in the smaller sample.
Each sweater can be finished with embroidery, buttons, beads etc (note that instructions for embellishment are not included in the pattern). Add ribbon or yarn to the back of the neck to create a hanging loop or thread through the sleeves of a few sweaters to make a festive garland. They also work well as decorations for gifts or cards.
This is a written pattern with photographs added to provide a visual guide for some of the steps, and it includes both UK and US terms. Suitable for adventurous beginners up. The finished measurements are approximately 6cm to 8cm/2.25" to 3" from top to bottom, depending on yarn used. You can use any weight of yarn, but 4ply/fingering/sock or DK work best.
