I fell in love with raku firing because of how it results in totally unique pieces of ceramic art and never more so with these amazing little owls. Each owl has it's own little character and I wanted to bring that further to life with the interaction between the owl and the branch it perches on.
Each firing and interaction between the glaze choice, the combustible materials in use (sawdust, seaweed) leave their own fingerprint on the final piece, which you only see for the first time after lifting out of the flames.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Handmade ceramic owl picture, made in Stirling.
The owl has been handmade and fired using the raku firing process. This involves exposing the glazed ceramic owl to fire and a combustible medium (sawdust).
The final colour of the owl, the backing colour and the shape of the wood used results in each piece being totally unique.
The frame is painted in light grey and has a small metal hook for hanging, please see pictures for details.
