Arborvitae for Deep Peace. Pocket Talisman 654
Size: 2.25" x 1.75" x 1" deep (6cm x 4.5cm x 2,5cm)
A hand carved piece of light, aromatic thuja wood.
There are several species of trees known as "Arbor Vitae" Tree of Life.
The American cedars (Western red cedar, Eastern white cedar) are the best known.
They have similarities to the Cypress Family, both in appearance and in spiritual qualities.
Thuja wood is even more aromatic than the cypresses and has an open, light, fibrous grain that nevertheless has an interesting grain pattern that can be polished smooth.
Herbally, the thujas are powerful but dangerous cleansers that can damage the liver yet also stop serious infections. Different species have different properties. Most are used externally rather than internally, but can cause allergic reaction.
The green tips of Eastern White Cedar leaves are high in vitamin C.
The wood though very light, is water-resistant and resists insect attack and decay.
Energetically, at subtle levels, thuja is deeply calming and protective.
It is steadying and protects from disruptive influences.
The patterns on this talisman reflect the enfolding, quietening nature of its energy.
On one side is a complex bind rune that combines the qualities of peaceful flow with deep protective life-force.
